George F. Tyson was an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1900s, playing at representative level for Great Britain, and England, and at club level for Oldham, as a Wing, i.e. number 2 or 5.

Playing career

International honours

Tyson won caps for England while at Oldham in 1908 against Wales, in 1909 against Australia (2 matches), and Wales,[1] and won caps for Great Britain while at Oldham in 1908 against New Zealand, and in 1908-09 against Australia (3 matches).[2]

Rugby Football League Championship appearances

George Tyson played for Oldham in the 1904–05 Rugby Football League Championship winning season.[3]

George Tyson played Right-Wing in Oldham's 3-7 defeat to Wigan in the 1908–09 Championship Final at the Willows, Salford on Saturday 1 May 1909.[4]

Club career

George Tyson was considered a "Probable" for the 1910 Great Britain Lions tour of Australia and New Zealand, but ultimately he was not selected for the tour.[5]
