George DeBenedicty (born June 12, 1949) founded Pegasus Realty & Associates, Inc. in Ocala, Florida in 1982, over 29 years ago. Since then he has sold over $600 Million[1] of Horse Country's Finest Farms, Training Centers and Acreages; becoming the real leader in Equine property sales.[2] George understands equine properties because he is deeply engaged in all aspects of the business. George owns and operates American Eagle Farm in Ocala, FL,[3] races his thoroughbred race horses on both the East and West coast, is very involved in Horse Breeding[4] and is also involved in the Hunter/Jumper show circuit.

Early life

George was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary. At the young age of 16 he competed in the Hungarian Modern Pentathlon and was Champion. This kicked off the beginning of a very accomplished sporting career for George. When he turned 17 he began competing all across Europe in France, Austria, Germany, and Poland representing the Hungarian National Team. He immigrated to New York City, USA at the age of 18. At age 19, joined the The New York Athletic Club fencing team. In 1969, he competed and made the final in Martini & Rossi International Cup in NYC. During this time he had been accepted to New York University (NYU) under a full Fencing scholarship. In 1971, he won the NCAA Fencing Individual Championship épée and NCAA Fencing Team Championship titles with NYU.

Career

George began his real estate career in 1976 joining Weichert Realtors as a Real Estate Agent in Morristown, NJ. In 1978 George became office manager of Weichert Realtors in their Middletown, NJ office. Always being an avid horse lover, George moved to Ocala, Florida in 1981. Which is known as the horse capitol of the world. Shortly after arriving to Ocala, George started his own real estate company called Pegasus Realty & Associates, Inc., in 1982. He started getting further involved in the thoroughbred horse industry in 1985 when he first started breeding horses. He had many victories on the race track throughout the years. His greatest was winning the Crown Royal Stakes at Churchill Downs with his horse Broadway Beau,[5] in 1996.

Personal life

George has been married to Karin Bell since 1990. They had a daughter named Victoria in October, 1995.

George is a leading expert in Farms and Land sales in the Ocala area. Having sold over $600 Million in Florida real estate as Broker of Pegasus Realty & Associates.

At age 64, He is still a very active Realtor - Broker and horse breeder. He resides at American Eagle Farm in Ocala, FL.
