Gediminas Orelik (Lithuanian: Gediminas Orelikas) (born May 14, 1990 in Šiauliai) is a professional Lithuanian basketball player for Lietuvos Rytas of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LBL). He plays primarily at the small forward position, but can also play power forward if needed.
Professional career
At the conclusion of the 2012–13 LKL season, Orelik won the Season MVP award after averaging 17.1 points per game, 5.4 rebounds per game and 21.2 efficiency points per game.[1] On 17 May 2013, it was announced that Orelik signed with Lietuvos Rytas.[2]
International career
Orelik was a part of the Lithuanian Under-16, Under-18, Under-19 and Under-20 junior national teams. In 2009, he played alongside Donatas Motiejūnas and led Lithuania to a 9th place at the Under-19 World Championship.
Personal life
Orelik is of Byelorussian or Polish descent.[3]
