Gay Anthems is a series of compilation albums which have been released by Almighty Records around the world with the first release in 2006. The albums feature tracks which the label feels are Gay anthems and are aimed at the gay market.

Production and Promotion

The album and its promotion was made possible by the deal made between the record label, Almighty Records and Universal Music. The deal between the two businesses meant that Almighty would remix some of the material Universal was due to release as promotional material for DJs and therefore increase the awareness of songs and bring them to a wider audience and thus hope to increase sales. In return Almighty would get increased exposure for their own productions which meant CDs would be made available at high street retail chains such as HMV and Zavvi for the first time, as well as music downloads on iTunes.[1]

Albums

To date there have been three albums released in the series with the last two being released in 2008.[2] All three albums feature two discs with the second being a drive-time non-stop mix of all the tracks on disc one.

  • Gay Anthems 1 - 12 tracks
  • Gay Anthems 2 - 12 tracks + 1 megamix
  • Gay Anthems 3 - 14 tracks
