Gastre Fault Zone

The Gastre Fault Zone (GFZ) is a NW-SE trending fault responsible for the alignment of Villarrica, Quetrupillán and Lanín volcanoes. The fault is believed to be a continuation of Lanalhue Fault which was active in late Paleozoic Era.
