Gary A. Lee
Gary Alcide Lee (born August 18, 1933) was a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from New York.
Lee was born in Buffalo, New York. He served in the United States Navy from 1952 until 1956. He graduated from Colgate University in 1960. He was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1975 until 1978. He was elected to Congress in 1978 and represented New York's 33rd congressional district from January 3, 1979 until January 3, 1983. He was an unsuccessful candidate for re-nomination when re-districting forced him into a primary contest against fellow Republican incumbent George Wortley. After leaving Congress he resided in Alexandria, Virginia. He later relocated to Fort Myers, Florida, where he remained active in politics, including serving as Chairman of the Lee County Republican Party.[1]
