Garswood railway station serves the village of Garswood in the Metropolitan Borough of St Helens, Merseyside, England. It is situated on the Liverpool to Wigan Line. The station, and all trains calling there, are operated by Northern Rail.

History

The station was opened on 1 December 1869[1] by the Lancashire Union Railway on their route between St Helens and Blackburn.

Services

During Monday to Saturday daytimes, Garswood is served by trains every 30 minutes between Liverpool Lime Street and Wigan North Western. After 20.00, the service reduces to one train every hour in each direction.

On Sundays the service is hourly in each direction, with a two-hourly service beyond Wigan to Preston & Blackpool North.
