Gaogouli County
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Gaogouli County was one of three prefectures of Xuantu Commandery in southeastern Manchuria.[1] It was established by the Han Dynasty after the fall of Gojoseon to keep Goguryeo tribes in check.[2] From 75 BC to 12 AD, Goguryeo tribes were under administration of Gaogouli County and engaged in client state relationship with the Han Dynasty.[1] In 12 AD, Goguryeo rebelled against the Han Dynasty and established independence.[1]
