Ganta, also known as Gompa City, is a town in Nimba County of northern Liberia, lying just south of the Guinea border. It is the second largest city in Liberia, with a population of 41,106.[1]

Ganta Hospital serves 450,000 people in Nimba County and surrounding areas.

Economic Life in Ganta

Ganta is an emerging city with a population of about 45,600,[2] and with vast land space favorite to investment in agriculture and business. Presently, beginning since 2007, there is now five banks in Ganta with others financial institutions. However, despite the fast pace of financial activities in the City, there also a wake of reputable institution alongside.

Hospitality

Ganta is also a hospitable place, with many modern entertainment center scattered along its streets about a mile in length. Among those outstanding bar and hotel are the Jackie's Guest House, the Alvino Hotel, the Beer Garden, Justina Bar and Restaurant etc. They are affordable and accessible to travel and dweller with 24-hours services

Transportation

Like other growing cities, Ganta transportation sector is dominated by motorbikes manufactured in India and Japan especially. As such, the air and environment in Ganta is becoming polluted with CO2 and CO. However, there's always a good news to this; which is, the city dweller are on the wake planting their own artificial ecosystem around their homes to provide cold air, shade, and moistures.

Health System

Ganta United Methodist Hospitals alias GUMH is the first in the city health sector. It is the first classic and modern health service provider in the city. Even though GUMH is the mother, but it is accompanied by other mini-clinic and pharmacies, also scattered all over the city vast land area. Consequently, all those health service providers help fight the epidemic disease malaria and other deadliest infectious diseases. As such, the ratio of malaria patient in the various hospitals in Ganta is amazingly reducing.

Resident

Ganta has many reputable people among them are Mr. Yeemie R. Dahn a teacher of the Ganta Public School and a student of the Liberia International Christian College (LICC) is a publisher and influential contributor to the city's prestige. Other people are Hon. D. Dorr Cooper the energetic City Mayor alias called 'Power of the City.' is the Lord mayor of Ganta. However, Ganta has about 26 (twenty six) communities among them are Hope Village, Blegay Town, Gbatu Quarter, Old Car Garage, Glenneyiluu, Deikehmien, LPMC, LPRC, Boe Community, etc.
