Gandzasar Stadium (Armenian: Գանձասար Մարզադաշտ) is a multi-purpose stadium in Kapan, Armenia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Gandzasar FC. With a capacity of 3,500,[1] Gandzasar Stadium is located at the centre of the town of Kapan, on the left bank of Voghji River.

Background

The stadium was opened during the Soviet period in 1963 as Lernagorts Stadium. It remained the property of the local municipality until 2008, when it was privatized and sold to the owners of Gandzasar FC; Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine CJSC. After being sold, the stadium went under a major renovation in 2008. The playing pitch was modernized and new seats were installed.

The average attendance at the stadium for Gandzasar FC Armenian Premier League matches is 1,500 spectatores.
