Gaetano Gagliano

Gaetano Gagliano, CM (born 1917) is a Canadian entrepreneur, who founded St. Joseph Communications and Salt + Light Television. Born in Cattolica Eraclea, Sicily, he immigrated to Canada in the 1950s and worked for CP Rail before launching St. Joseph Communications in 1956.

Gaetano moved from Italy with his wife and eventually had 10 children in total and over 40 grandchildren. His printing business, St. Joseph Communications would eventually become what is the largest private communications company in Canada.

He was named a Knight of the Order of St. Sylvester in 1992,[citation needed] and a Member of the Order of Canada in 1998.[1] He has received two honorary doctorates from Canadian Universities. Gaetano Gagliano was also given the title of Commendatore which is one of Italy's highest honorary rankings.

Gagliano currently resides in Toronto.
