Gabriel Cristian Iancu (born 15 April 1994) is a Romanian footballer who plays as a left winger or an attacking midfielder for the Liga I club Steaua București.

Career

Early career

As a youngster he made a name for himself on the fields of LTS where he drew the attention of coaches and scouts with his technical ability, dribbling skills, and finesse shots.

Viitorul Constanța

In March 2012, he and his team-mate Țîru have been on trial at Ajax.[1] Galatasaray was also linked with Iancu.[2]

Steaua București

In December 2012, Gabriel Iancu signed a 5-year contract with Steaua București for an undisclosed fee, but Romanian media have widely reported the transfer fee to around 500,000 (which acquired 70% of the player's rights).[3][4] His contract includes a 25 million buyout clause.[5]

On July 30, Iancu scored the only two goals in the away victory against Dinamo Tbilisi, to facilitate Steaua's progression to the Play-off round.[6]
