Gabriel Fernandes (born 22 April 1988 in Porvorim, Goa) is an Indian footballer who plays as a forward for Dempo in the I-League.

Career

Mumbai

After spending time with Sporting Clube de Goa Fernandes signed for Mumbai F.C. of the I-League before the 2012–13 I-League season began.[1] He made his I-League debut for the club on 6 October 2012 against Pailan Arrows at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, West Bengal coming on as a 66th minute substitute for Subash Chakraborty as Mumbai lost 3–2.[2] He scored his first goal for the club on 9 November 2012 against his former club Sporting Clube de Goa at the Balewadi Sports Complex in Pune, Maharashtra with a 26th minute striker which eventually led to Mumbai winning the match 3–2.[3] He then scored his second goal for the club in the next game on 17 November 2012 against Shillong Lajong F.C. at the Balewadi Sports Complex where he scored in the 20th minute as Mumbai went on to win the match 4–1.[4] He then scored his third goal of the season on 23 December 2012 against East Bengal F.C. at the Balewadi Sports Complex in the 64th minute to give Mumbai a 1–0 lead which they would eventually expand to a 2–1 victory.[5]

Fernandes then opened his 2013 account on 19 January 2013 when he scored in the I-League against Prayag United S.C. in the 30th minute of the match in which Mumbai would go on to win 2–1.[6]

Dempo

On 24th May 2013 it was confirmed that Fernandes has signed for Dempo.[7] He made his debut for Dempo in the I-League on 22 September 2013 against Shillong Lajong at the Duler Stadium; in which he came on as a substitute for Clifford Miranda in the 82nd minute; as Dempo lost the match 0–3.[8]
