Gaëtan Huard (born 12 January 1962 in Montargis, Loiret) is a French retired footballer who played as a goalkeeper.
Football career
Huard played in a total of 384 Division 1 matches for RC Lens, Bordeaux and Marseille.
Huard won two Division 1 titles with Marseille in 1989 and 1990.
During the 1992–93 French Division 1 season with Bordeaux, Huard set a Division 1 or Ligue 1 goalkeeping record of playing 1,176 minutes without conceding a goal. He finally conceded a Division 1 goal in April 1993 at Bordeaux's home stadium - the Stade du Parc Lescure. Vincent Enyeama, who was Lille OSC's goalkeeper, finally conceded a goal after playing 1,062 minutes of Ligue 1 football during the 2013–14 Ligue 1 season. That was the closest anyone had come to equalling Huard's Division 1 or Ligue 1 goalkeeping record.[1]
Huard helped Bordeaux reach the 1996 UEFA Cup final, where they lost to FC Bayern Munich. The 34-year old had a very short stint abroad, playing in only ten La Liga matches with modest Hércules CF during the 1996–97 La Liga season. Hércules was eventually relegated to the Segunda División at the end of that season, after which Huard retired from professional football.
Afterwards, Huard worked several years as a sports consultant for Canal+.
