Güzelyurt District

Location of Güzelyurt district in Northern Cyprus.

Güzelyurt District is a district of Northern Cyprus. It is divided into two sub-districts: Güzelyurt Sub-district and Lefke Sub-district.[1] Its capital is Morphou, also known by its Turkish name, Güzelyurt. Its population was 29,264 in 2006.[1] Its kaymakam is Menteş Gündüz.[2]


Güzelyurt District formed in 1 June 1998 via separation from Lefkoşa District. [3]
