Gülşah Haseki Sultan or Gülşah Sultan (Ottoman Turkish: گلشاه خاصکی سلطان, born around 1496-1499, - died December 28, 1529, birth name Rachel Gradiana, other names Rachelle) was a consort to Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. She was the mother of Nuriye Gül Sultan of the Ottoman Empire.

Biography

She was born in around 1496 or 1499 in Baja, the Kingdom of Hungary. She was abducted at a very young age of thirteen in around 1509 or 1512 by Serbian Baja raiders. She entered the harem of when Suleiman was still a şehzade ("Ottoman prince") and the governor of Manisa sanjak (then known as Saruhan) and his father Selim I was the Sultan. She became the Sultans's haseki (favourite concubine) and in or about 1526 she gave birth to a daughter, Nuriye Gül Sultan. Her life in the palace is not known, except this that she was tortured by Sultan Suleiman's favourite consort and later wife, Hürrem Sultan. Hürrem's several attempts to kill her failed but after three years she was killed along with her daughter. She died at a very young age in December 28, 1529 in Belgrade. Their bodies were thrown into the sea leaving no traces and were never found.
