Gülçiçek Hatun

Gülçiçek Hatun (Ottoman Turkish: گلچیچک خاتون; Greek: Γκιουλτσιτσέκ Χατούν) was a princess form Byzantine and the first wife of Ottoman Sultan Murad I and Valide Sultan to their son Bayezid I.[1] She was of Greek descent. She was married to Ottoman Sultan Murad I in 1359. In her lifetime she established a religious and charitable foundation. With its revenues she built a mosque and a tomb in Bursa where she was buried.[2][3]
