Gönül Yazar

Gönül Yazar (born Gönül Özyeğiner), born in the port city of Izmir on Augsust 12, 1936, is a popular Turkish singer and actress. She is one of the most famous Turkish entertainers of all time with a peak in 1960s and 1970s. Her sister Belkıs Özener is also a singer.
At the age of 14, she won a singing competition called "Ege Ses Kraliçesi Yarışması" (Vocal Queen of the Aegean)[citation needed]. She married her husband Necdet Yazar who pushed her to fame through Ankara Radio. She has released 18 music albums and has acted in more than 40 films[citation needed].
