Futaba (双葉町 Futaba-machi) is an abandoned city in Futaba District, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.
As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 7,406 and a density of 144.09 /km2 (373.2 /sq mi). The total area is 51.40 km2 (19.85 sq mi).

In the March 2011 tsunami, a town official reported that 90% of the houses had been destroyed.[1] Following the subsequent nuclear accident, Futaba fell within the exclusion zone surrounding the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant and was summarily evacuated by the Japanese government.[2]
