Furtherwick Park School was a Comprehensive boy and girls senior school for 11–16 year olds, located on Canvey Island. The school is in the town centre. As the oldest school on the Island, it celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2006. The school has around 1000 pupils. This school is no longer accepting new year 7 students because in 2010/2011 the school will be moving students to Cornelius Vermuyden School and Arts College and Castle View School. While this happens the current Furtherwick site will undergo construction of the new Castle View. In 2007 the school got a media Arts College status.

The final Ofsted report judged the school satisfactory, an improvement on previous years when the school was judged failing on several key benchmarks http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/provider/files/978697/urn/115333.pdf
