Funky Butt (founded 2000 in Oslo, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz band, inspired by the New Orleans Jazz. About their music it's said: «It´s a funky brass band with piano added, offering groovy, New Orleans music with a nordic perspective. It´s a melting pot of traditional jazz, Caribbean influences, tango, hard bop and contemporary grooves. It embraces lyrical beauty and fresh phrasing. It involves strong soloing and respectful collective playing. And it never compromises on the seriousness nor on the fun of the music».[1][2]
