Fred J. Rice (November 10, 1918 – March 8, 2005) was the 26th head football coach for the Colgate University Raiders located in the Village of Hamilton in Madison County, New York and he held that position for two seasons, from 1957 until 1958. His overall coaching record at Colgate was 4 wins, 14 losses, and 0 ties. This ranks him 22nd at Colgate in terms of total wins and 31st at Colgate in terms of winning percentage. [1]

After leaving Colgate, Rice was the head coach at Nicolet High School from 1961-1975 where he posted a 70-53-9 record and won a Braveland Conference Championship in 1966.[2]
