Frans Francken III

Frans Francken III (16071667) was a Flemish Baroque painter and well known member of the Francken family.

Biography

Francken was born and died in Antwerp. According to the RKD he was the son of Frans Francken II and Elisabeth Placquet and became a master in the Antwerp Guild of St. Luke in 1639.[1] He is known for genre works and portraits, and painted staffage in the works of Pieter Neeffs I and his son Pieter Neeffs II.[1] He became the teacher of Carstian Luyckx, and Jan Baptist Segaert.[1]
