Francisco Alejandro Gutierrez (February 19, 1962 – October 22, 2005), more familiarly known as Franky Gee, was a Cuban American soldier, rapper and singer who became the frontman for the German Europop group Captain Jack.
Early life
Gee was born in Havana, Cuba his family emigrated to Miami, Florida, and he then went on to Majorca, Spain when he was young.[1] After college, he enlisted in the United States Army, and was stationed in Germany. While there, he began his career as a disc jockey. He grew tired of military service and decided to stay in Germany when his enlistment expired. His clothing and mannerisms in Captain Jack were intended to satirize the American military.
Captain Jack's music was widely featured on the popular Konami arcade game, Dance Dance Revolution, and others in that series.[2]
Death
On October 17, 2005 he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage while walking with his son in Palma, Spain. He went into a coma and subsequently died five days later.[3]
