Francesco Pisano (born 29 April 1986 in Cagliari) is an Italian footballer who plays as a defender for Serie A club Cagliari Calcio. He can play anywhere on the right flank, though he usually plays as a right back where he utilizes his pace to great effect.

Career

A native of Cagliari, Pisano used to be a competitive sprinter in school before concentrating on football. He made the first team in the 2003-04 season while Cagliari were in Serie B but did not make any appearances. On 26 September 2004, Daniele Arrigoni handed the teenager his debut. He came on as an early substitute for the injured Gianfranco Zola in the 3-1 loss at Lecce.

Pisano came in second for the 2006-07 season fans' player of the year poll, behind striker David Suazo. He has since been first choice right back whenever fit.

His first goal for Cagliari came in a 4-2 win over Roma.
