Fractured Atlas

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fractured Atlas is a national not-for-profit arts services organization based in New York City.

History

It was founded in 1998 by current Executive Director Adam Huttler as a theater production company,[1][2] but became a service organization for other artists in 2001. When it worked as a theater production company, they also worked with other theater companies, choreographers, musicians, and performance artists. The events of 9/11 in the United States of America almost caused Fractured Atlas to have to close down, but they were able to reinvent the company from support of the board of directors and executive leadership. Information

The organization offers a variety of services to independent artists and arts organizations, including fiscal sponsorship, liability insurance, health insurance, and online courses[4] on arts-related topics. Clients are as varied as the online magazine What Weekly or the Spanish language used bookstore in New York City Libreria Donceles. Fractured Atlas has been able to reach out to over 250,000 artists and organizations. Many of the services that Fractured Atlas provides can be found and completed online.[3]
