The Athletic Football Club Fostiras founded in 1926 in what was then the region of New Slaughterhouses - an area where he built slaughterhouses Emmanuel - Benaki in a later Tavros from local residents, who were mostly refugees from Asia Minor.
Foundation - the early years
In 1926 young football fans refugees in the region of New Slaughterhouses decided to form a football club. Among others were: G. Vavouli, T. Vafeiadis, C. Vafeiadis J. Mavropoulos, K. Mavropoulos, Panag.Papadopoulos, G. Axarlis, St. Moschidis, Ch . Hatzopoulos, G. Zarifis etc. Overall leader and driving force behind the club was G. Vavouli, which is the rapid development and the introduction of a basic sports club district . Initiator group name was Chr. Hatzopoulos from Constantinople. Perhaps inspired the name of the eponymous group luminary that existed in the City season 1923-1924 . [1 ] Colors of the club set yellow and black, which were the colors of Byzantium. Original emblem of the club was the phoenix that was later removed because it was associated with the junta in 1967.
The first match of the club was referred on 30 January 1927 opponent Atromitos Naples ( Exarheia ) and ended 2-2 . Listed on :

" [2 ] Initially there was no board, the players were and administration. Later on Board and served as first president of the Char. Vafeiadis from 1927 to January 1930 . During his days the club became a member of NSOs Athens and the season 1930-31 first joined the league of Athens. That time had about 150 members . In Vafeiadi succeeded to the presidency of the club Ph. Katsinas .
As 1930 gave only friendly games . The first group of Fostiras that remained almost the same as in 1930, were the players : S. Ladonicolas, Zaridis J. Mavropoulos, Od Christofides, T. Vafeiadis, G. Axarlis, S. Xanthopoulos, P. Papadopoulos, S. Moschidis, T. Vafeiadis, Halva, Sarigkoulis, S. Diamantopoulos, K. Mavropoulos, G. Perivolarakis . [3 ] in 1930 he was coached by Pashalidis .
This group gradually established a great reputation as well as 1930 remained undefeated in matches with informal associations. Started invited and nearby areas such as in Halkida ( where he defeated the champion of the city Olympiakos 4-3), Salamis (where he crashed the local Union Salamis 5-0 ) etc. In 1928 he finished in 2nd place in the tournament between 24 independent unions . By the summer of 1930 he joined the EPSA had achieved 32 wins, three draws and only one defeat and had several goals 119-26 . In some victories achieved impressive scores, such as : Glory Koukaki 6-0, National Kolonoy 6-3, 4-0 Frontiersmen Drapetsonas, Pera Club 5-0, Victory Plate 6-3, 3-0 Petralona Union, Union of Chalcedon 4 -1, B Apollo Athens 3-1 Union Naples 10-0, 5-0 Philadelphia Union, Union Thisiou 4-0, 3-0 New Astir Peristeri etc.
The Athletic Union Junior Slaughterhouses : main competitor Fostiras district was " Athletic Union Junior N. Slaughterhouses " ( Merchant Marine ), from whom he had met his first defeat in 1930 with a 1-2, since until then was invincible . The Merchant Marine Founded in September 1929 by brothers Stephen, Nicholas and Panayi Kristallidis in Ant. Antoniadis and El. Iatrellis . Immediately created its own court standard size and began giving informal competitions with other clubs. 1929-30 season scored 10 wins, 6 draws and three defeats. Most impressive was the victory over the Fostiras who was unbeaten on three years . In the standard group AEN struggling G. Zarifis ( term. ), K. Baketatzis, Al. Kalafatis ( opisth. ), N. The "Killer" Of Giants
Shortly after the war the team struggling Spyros Gialampidis, Tsiskaki, Dimitsanas, Pilate Chatzigiannis, Mantalopoulos, Bebis, Neophytou, Milonakis, Fampritsis, Kaparatzian, Wade, Roumeliotis Dimitsanas Margaritis I & II Kypriotis, Katsilieris, Matsagos, Pavlidis, Exapichidis, Mpompotas etc. At that time managed to sustain in the A category, after defeating the major league team . It was then that he was given the nickname that still maintains : " slayer of giants ."
