Fort Night

"Fort Night" is the 2nd episode of the fourth season of the animated comedy series Bob's Burgers and the overall 47th episode, and is written by Mike Olsen and directed by Boohwan Lim and Kyounghee Lim. It aired on Fox in the United States on October 6, 2013.^[1]

Plot

Before trick-or-treating, the Belcher kids and their pals decide to go to their fort, where unfortunately, Louise's loony friend Millie decides to hold them hostage after a truck traps their only exit.

Reception

Critical reception

Alasdair Wilkins of The A.V. Club gave the episode an A, saying "Fort Night” admirably pushes the boundaries of what a Bob’s Burgers episode can be, but the fact that it has far more to offer than mere shock value is what makes it a classic."^[2] Robert Ham of Paste gave the episode a 8.8 out of 10, saying "Just like last week’s season opener, there’s no big lesson learned, and no heartfelt moment of family togetherness. In fact, by the time kids and parents are reunited, they spend the time wrestling over the candy Bob and Linda picked up. This episode was another perfectly rendered step forward for the series that will unfortunately lose a bit of its momentum as it faces a postseason baseball-induced hiatus until the first part of November. We’ll be waiting for your return, Belcher family."^[3]

Ratings

The episode received a 1.9 rating and was watched by a total of 4.21 million people. This made it the fourth most watched show on Animation Domination that night, losing to American Dad!, Family Guy and The Simpsons with 6.42 million.^[4]
