Fontanelice is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Bologna in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 30 km southeast of Bologna. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,884 and an area of 36.6 km².[1]
Fontanelice borders the following municipalities: Borgo Tossignano, Casalfiumanese, Casola Valsenio, Castel del Rio.
