Femina is an award winning women's magazine owned by Femina Group and the first women’s publication in Indonesia. It was first published in September 1972 by Mirta Kartohadiprodjo in her family's garage with the help of her friends Widarti Gunawan and Atika Makarim. As the first women's magazine at that time, Femina was published to accommodate the inspiration of Indonesian and optimize their potential, without losing their self-identity. In its early years, Femina was recognized as the platform for Indonesian women novelists, the latest fashion trends and a reference for household recipes.

Awards

In 2006, Femina received a Bronze Award from IFRA (the international association for newspaper and media publishing) in the category of Best Design in the 5th Asia Media awards. Organized by IFRA Asia, Femina was the only magazine from Indonesia to be honored with such an award. The other recipients in the category were India Today of India and Herworld of Singapore.
