Felimare bayeri is a species of colorful sea slug or dorid nudibranch, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Chromodorididae.[1] It was described by Eveline and Ernst Marcus in 1967.[2][3]

Distribution

This nudibranch is found in the Caribbean Sea[4] (Florida and Cuba[3]) and the Gulf of Mexico (Belize, Mexico, Panama[3]).

Description

Dark blue in color with a series of yellow longitudinal lines, it exhibits purple-blue rhinophores and opaque white branchial leaves marked by dark rachises.[3] The foot's posterior end is blue with black spots and yellow lines.[3] The maximum recorded length is 60 mm.[5]

Habitat

Minimum recorded depth is 3 m.[5] Maximum recorded depth is 4 m.[5]
