Fatehnagar is a city and a municipality in Udaipur district in the state of Rajasthan, India.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Fatehnagar had a population of 19,624. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Fatehnagar has an average literacy rate of 60%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 71%, and female literacy is 48%. In Fatehnagar, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. The town falls under Mavli Tehsil. It has a railway station on Udaipur- Chittaurgarh Section of NW Railway. The town is also well connected by road. The fatehnagar was established by Maharana Fateh Singh of Mewar to provide a railway station to near by town named Sanwar. The town has a MANDI and mainly deals in groundnuts, soya. It is 52 km from Udaipur and 65 km from Chaittaurgarh. Many former princely thikanas are located around Fatehnagar namely Sanwar, Kankrawa, Tana and Akola.
