A Flexible Alternating Current Transmission System(FACTS)is a system composed of static equipment used for AC transmission of electrical energy. It is a Power electronics based system. It enhances controllability and power transfer capability. FACTS devices include Static Var Compeensator(SVC), Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor(TCSC), Unified Power Flow Controller(UPFC), Integral Power Flow COntroller(IPFC).
