Fabio Vignaroli (born June 7, 1976 in Finale Ligure, Savona) is an Italian footballer currently playing for Maltese Premier League side Mosta, where he plays as an attacking midfielder.
Biography
He played three more season at Como, all in Serie C1, before joining Serie B side Monza in 1998.
In 2000, he moved to Salernitana, scoring a total of 26 goals in three Serie B seasons for the granata, with 20 of them in the 2001-02 season. In January 2003 he accepted an offer from newly promoted Serie A team Modena, and marked his top-flight début in a 0-2 home loss to Atalanta on January 25, 2003.[1] He stayed at Modena for three seasons before moving at Parma on January 2005.
He then signed for Serie B's Bologna six months later, but failed to impress, scoring only two goals in 31 matches, and was released for free on June 2006. After six months without a club, on February 2007 he accepted an offer from relegation-battling Serie B side Bari,[2] where he failed to score a single goal in his 15 appearances with the galletti.
Again without a contract, he was signed by Lazio on September 2007 in a one-year deal.[3] Following the expiration of his Lazio contract, Vignaroli signed for Super League Greece club Panthrakikos.[citation needed]
Scotland
In October 2008, Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock took Vignaroli on trial for a week. With Kilmarnock unable to commit to the player until the January transfer window, Vignaroli was then taken on trial with fellow Scottish club Dundee F.C..[4]
Dundee caretaker manager Davie Farrell was hoping that he could play as a trialist in their league game against Morton, but SFA rules forbid players from abroad playing as trialists.[5]
Newcastle Jets
On February 8, 2009, the Newcastle Jets signed Vignaroli for a 6-month period on a deal which saw the veteran play for the club in the AFC Champions League 2009 tournament.[6] On 10 March 2009, he made his debut for Newcastle in their 2-0 AFC Champions League away loss to Beijing Guoan.
Vignaroli became the highest paid player in Newcastle Jets history, after the 33 year-old marquee player signed a 1-year contract worth more than A$300,000.[7] Vignaroli was ruled out for the rest of the 2009/2010 season after scans confirmed injuries to his right knee.[8] Vignaroli was released from the Newcastle Jets due to a long term knee injury.
Italy return
In January 2011 he returned to Italy.[9]
Mosta
Vignaroli joined Maltese Premier League side Mosta on the 23 January 2013.
