FM OSAKA Tower Station

FM OSAKA Co., Ltd. (株式会社エフエム大阪 Kabushikigaisha Efu Emu Ōsaka, 85.1) is a radio station in Osaka, Japan. It is an affiliated station of Japan FM Network (JFN).

History of FM OSAKA

On April 1, 1970, FM OSAKA started broadcasting as the first private FM station (second in FM) in Nakanoshima, Osaka nationwide as the only FM radio station affiliated with Japan FM Network (JFN) in the Kansai region. As it was starting, FM OSAKA had a transmitting station in Mt. Ikoma, but it was moved to Mt. Iimori later on because of the transmission; it flew in, but was pointed out to outside of Osaka. Now, FM OSAKA, FM 802 and NHK FM Broadcasting in Osaka are at the prefecture's level station to assure that Osaka is in the broadcast area. By the way, which transmits a message from the Ikoma mountain range top because FM COCOLO is broadcast in major city Kansai such as Osaka, Sakai, Higashiosaka, Kobe, Amagasaki, Kyoto, Nara and at Kansai International Airport.

In the past, FM OSAKA broadcast from Asahi Shimbun Osaka Headquarters building in Nakanoshima, but it restarted broadcasting from "Minatomachi River Place" in Minatomachi, Naniwa-ku at 1:00 p.m. on July 22, 2002.
