The Eyrean Grasswren (Amytornis goyderi) is a species of bird in the Maluridae family. It is endemic to Australia.
Distribution and habitat
The grasswren is found in arid central Australia in the Lake Eyre basin where it inhabits scattered Sandhill Cane-grass clumps, often near salt lakes and irregularly flooded wetlands, in the Channel Country of south-western Queensland, south-eastern Northern Territory and north-eastern South Australia. Sites identified by BirdLife International as being important for Eyrean Grasswren conservation are the Coongie Lakes, Goyder Lagoon, Lakes Muncoonie, Mumbleberry and Torquinie, the Simpson Desert and the Strzelecki Desert Lakes.[2]
