Podell recently played the role of Dr. Evram Mintz on the ABC sci-fi drama series Defying Gravity.[1]

Early life

After spending the first two years of his childhood in Israel, Eyal and his family relocated to the United States for a year and then moved to Hong Kong, China, where he lived until the age of eight. Upon his return to the United States, his family settled in to New York's Westchester County. Career

Since arriving in Los Angeles, Eyal has worked consistently in both film and television. His big-screen debut came playing Al Pacino's son in The Insider. He was trained as a classical actor at the National Theater Institute, part of the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center. In addition to his acting talents, he has also penned three screenplays. One is Homeland. He co-wrote the other two with Jonathon E. Stewart: USONIA (formerly The Space Within) and Made In China. Most recently, Podell wrapped production on his new upcoming film entitled, Valediction, where he plays the "half-brother" of co-star Samuel Page. The film could begin its film festival circuit as early as October 2011. The teaser trailer can be found on YouTube via Valediction Teaser Trailer.
