Exec (errand service)

Exec is an errand running service, run by a company based in San Francisco, USA, that provides companies and individuals access to on-demand personal assistants (for delivery, furniture assembly, research, etc.) via mobile and web.[1] Started by Justin Kan, founder of Justin.tv, in February 2012 with co-founders Daniel Kan, his brother, and Amir Ghazvinian, Exec is a Y Combinator-backed company designed for people to find others to complete jobs for them in real-time.

History

As of May 25, 2012, Exec has received $3.3 million in seed funding.[2] [3]

As of 2012, it was planning to expand to the rest of the Bay Area and then to other major metropolitan areas. [4]

Business method

Exec’s has no auction process, and is not an open marketplace. The jobs are dispatched to nearby individuals with the appropriateskills and good ratings, at a flat rate of $38 an hour .[3][4]

Reception

Exec was nominated for Techcrunch's 2012 TechCrunchie Award for Fastest Rising Startup.[5] Exec has been building gooding traction since it started; as of May 2012, it reached 32,000 in Alexa rankings for the US. It has been favored for its simplicity, trained workforce, and real-time tasks potential.[6] Exec’s new cleaning service especially has been garnering positive reviews from its users on Yelp[7][8] as well as web publications such as TechCrunch praising their professionalism and efficiency.[9] Exec has also received coverage by other publications such as The New York Times, Huffington Post, Forbes, Inc., and Business Insider.[3][9][10][11][12]
