Exclusive Hotels

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Exclusive Hotels are a hotel chain based in Surrey, England. The hotel group has a portfolio of several hotels across the south, and operates mainly in the five star sector.

Portfolio

The hotel group has owned Pennyhill Park Hotel in Surrey since 1982. A year later, Lainston House Hotel in Hampshire joined the group property collection.[1] South Lodge Hotel in West Sussex was purchased in July 1985, after the last of the descendants of the original owner, Frederick DuCane Godman, died.[2]

The hotel group also owns Manor House Hotel in Wiltshire, and Mannings Heath Golf Club in Sussex.

In May 2011, the hotel group bought The Royal Berkshire Hotel, located in Ascot, under the group's sister brand EH Venues.[3][4] The EH Venues sister brand also owns Fanhams Hall, an events venue and hotel located in Ware, Hertfordshire.

Awards

Exclusive Hotels has won a number of awards for the properties in its collection. For example, the group won 'AA Small Hotel Group of the Year' for 2009-2010.[5][6]

The properties in the group collection also employ a number of high-profile chefs, including the Michelin starred Chefs Michael Wignall (who has participated in television shows such as Great British Menu during his time with the group [7][8]) and Richard Davies.[9][10][11] The hotel group's Managing Director, Danny Pecorelli, has stated that the group's emphasis on fine food and luxury dining is to counter against "very mediocre restaurant offers" available in many hotels.[12]

Environmental and Charity Work

In recent years, the hotel group has launched the 'Exclusively Green' project, which researches, reviews and trials methods to reduce the environmental impact of the hotel group's activities e.g. for reducing the group's carbon footprint.[13]

The hotel group is also actively involved in local fund-raising events and is one of the official sponsors of MacMillan Cancer Support.[14][15]
