Everyday is the 2nd mini album by the South Korean girl group Girl's Day. It was released in July 7, 2011 with the song "Hug Me Once" as title track.[1] The EP is also the first time members Yura and Hyeri were featured on a physically released album as both of them have only participated on digital singles prior to this release.

Background

A teaser photo of the group was released on the internet in June 29, along with the EP cover. In the photo, the girls are dressed in wedding dresses, which is the concept of the EP.[2] In July 1st, the member Hyeri shared two more photos via Girl's Day's me2day account. One photo is the first teaser of the music video for "Hug Me Once".[3] The EP was released in July 7 featuring their previously two digital releases: "Girl's Day Party #2" and "Girl's Day Party #3", which are a package of the songs "Nothing Lasts Forever"[4] and "Twinkle Twinkle"[5] respectively.

Music video

A teaser of the music video for "Hug Me Once" was released in July 3.[6] It was reported in July 5 the music video for "Hug Me Once" was going to be the first K-pop interactive game-music video released. A representative of the group, Park Sinook revealed: “It is the first time a K-Pop music video has been produced this way, our video production team, metaoloz, created an interactive game experience, where fans will be able to choose between multiple options and outcomes. Ultimately, fans will determine what they want to see, as well as be able to interact with the girls on a more intimate level. Each of the girl’s have a very vibrant and unique personality, so we hope fans play the game/music video in every possible outcome! Girl’s Day worked extremely hard to bring something new and fresh for their fans, please anticipate the interactive music video and support their comeback.”.[7] The full and interactive music video was released in July 7, along with the EP release.[8]

Promotions

The promotions of "Hug Me Once" started in July 8 on KBS's show Music Bank. They also promoted on the TV shows Music Core, Inkigayo and M! Countdown. The promotions ended in August 6, on the show Music Core, due to the girls preparations for debuting in Japan.[9]
