Euaesthetinae Thomson 1859 is a subfamily of Staphylinidae (Coleoptera).

Anatomy

  • Antennae slender with apical 2-3 antennomeres forming a loose club.
  • 4-4-4 or 5-5-5 (5-5-4 in some exotic genera) tarsal segments.


Ecology

Habitat: forest litter.

Collection Method: sifting/Berlese forest litter.

Biology: poorly known

Systematics

Five genera and 22 species known from North America.
