Ethem Sancak

Ethem Sancak (born 1958, Siirt[1]) is a Turkish businessman considered to have "close ties to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan".[2] He is the chairman of Turkey's Hedef Alliance Holding, a pharmaceutical and toiletry wholesaler he founded in 1987.[3] In early 2013 he was listed by Forbes as the 43rd richest person in Turkey.[4]
From 2004 to 2009 he was the owner of the Star Media Group, giving its Star newspaper a more pro-Justice and Development Party (AKP) line.[2][5]
