Espoon Honka is a basketball club based in Espoo, Finland. Espoo is Finland's second largest city, with a population over 240,000. It is nearby Helsinki.
Originally, one sport club Tapion Honka existed in Espoo. It was founded in 1957. However, in 1975 the club split into three separate clubs, divided by their respective sports of basketball (Tapiolan Honka), soccer (FC Honka), and ice hockey (Jäähonka).
Tapiolan Honka has men's, women's, and youth teams. The Honka Playboys won the Korisliiga championship in 2006, under the command of Serbian coach Mihailo Pavicevic. Top players that currently play for Honka are Finnish nationalteam players Kimmo Muurinen and Jukka Matinen and Americans Monte Cummings and Akeem Scott.
Honka didn't play 2011–12 season due to financial problems.
