Eric Kronberg (born June 7, 1983) is an American soccer goalkeeper who currently plays for Sporting Kansas City in Major League Soccer.

Career

Youth and amateur

Kronberg played college soccer at California State University, Fresno and the University of California, Berkeley. He posted a 0.89 career goals against average in his two seasons at Fresno State, and posted a 12-4-2 record and a 0.55 goals against average as a senior at Berkeley. During his college years Kronberg also played for Sonoma County Sol in the National Premier Soccer League.

Professional

Kronberg was drafted in the fourth round (40th overall) of the 2006 MLS Superdraft by the Kansas City Wizards but spent his debut professional season on loan at Miami FC in the USL First Division, where he made 11 appearances. He has served as the backup goalkeeper for the Wizards/Sporting since 2007, playing extensively in the MLS Reserve Division.

Kronberg made his MLS debut in a 4–1 win against the San Jose Earthquakes on October 23, 2010.[2]
