Eric Dixon (cricketer)

Eric John Hopkins Dixon was an English cricketer active from 1936 to 1939 who played for Northamptonshire (Northants). He was born in Horbury, Yorkshire on 22nd September 1915 and died 20th April 1941 on active service in World War II when flying from HMS Formidable off the coast of Tripoli, Libya. He appeared in 49 first-class matches as a righthanded batsman who scored 2,356 runs with a highest score of 123, one of two centuries.[1]
