Eric Appel (born August 13, 1980) is a writer/director working in television, film, commercials and internet videos. He has written for MTV's Human Giant, The Andy Milonakis Show and Crank Yankers, and directed episodes of the US version of The Office, Workaholics, NTSF:SD:SUV, Eagleheart, Blue Mountain State, Death Valley, New Girl and Nick Swardson's Pretend Time.

After attending high school in Endicott, New York, Appel graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a degree in animation. While in college, he was involved with the long running improvisation comedy show at the University of Pittsburgh, Friday Nite Improvs, and soon after moved to New York City to train as an improvisor at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater.

After moving to Los Angeles, Appel created an original series for Super Deluxe, and worked as a staff writer/director at the comedy website Funny or Die.
