Enzo Fiermonte

Enzo Fiermonte (July 17, 1908 – March 1993), sometimes credited as William Bird, was an actor and boxer. Fiermonte was born on 17 July 1908 in Bari, Puglia, Italy. He married Madeleine Talmage Force on November 27, 1933 in New York City, but was divorced on June 11, 1938. Enzo was only four years older than his stepson, John Jacob Astor VI. From 1925 to 1934, he was a professional boxer, with a lifetime record of 45 wins (10 by knockout) and 13 losses (9 by knockout),[1] but later became a film actor. He had roles in at least 116 films from the 1940s to the 1980s. Fiermonte died in March 1993 in Mentana, Italy.

He entered his Maserati in the 1937 Vanderbilt Cup auto race in Westbury, New York, but was not allowed to participate because he had no formal auto racing experience.
