Entertainment Building
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Entertainment Building (Chinese: 娛樂行) is a building at Queen's Road Central between the two junctions with Wyndham Street and D'Aguilar Street in Central, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. The neo-gothic architecture and height of the building make it distinctive amongst the old office buildings nearby.
The 34-storey commercial tower has a total gross floor area of 210,000 square feet (20,000 m2).
History
The precursor of the building was a movie theater, the King's Theatre.
Ownership
In November 1996, Hysan Development Holdings agreed to buy the building from Chinese Estates Holdings, for $3.64 billion, an average price of about $17,300 per sq ft.[1]
In 2005, Hysan announced that it would sell the building for $2.7 billion. [2]
