History

Entalysis was founded in 2002, originally developing inventory optimization software solutions for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which forecast product demand and determine the optimal stock-holding and replenishments by warehouse for single or multi-echelon supply chains. Inventory Strategy Manager (2002-2009) was Entalysis' first software program, which brought inventory optimization to SMEs.[2]

In late 2007, development started on a new business performance management software application called Extensions (2009-). From the first projects, Entalysis provided other software solutions in addition to inventory optimization according to clients' requests, initially within the supply chain function and soon extending to sales and marketing, personnel, operations and accounts.[3] Originally, these solutions were enabled by bespoke applications or databases and spreadsheets, but their variety and proliferation hampered software updates and version control. Extensions is a client-server application whose reports and functionality are configured by XML script files read by a server, solving the previous difficulties concerning updates and version control. To reflect the current focus of the company, Entalysis rebranded itself as a business performance management company from 2011 onwards.
