Elsternwick Park
Elsternwick Park is an Australian rules football and cricket stadium in Elsternwick, Victoria, a suburb of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia.
The stadium has a small grandstand with a capacity for around 15,000 spectators.
It was built by the Elsternwick Cricket Club in 1901, and was formerly a Victorian Football Association stadium and home to the defunct Brighton Football Club, Elsternwick Park is now the headquarters of the Victorian Amateur Football Association, an amateur league, and the Elsternwick Cricket Club who play in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association.
During the VAFA season, crowds are modest, however the stadium hosts many finals and the Grand Finals for each of the VAFA divisions regularly attract strong crowds of over 10,000.
The stadium also played host to many of the matches from the 2002 Australian Football International Cup.
In June 2009, Melbourne's best loved charity day The Community Cup was played at Elsternwick Park. A crowd of 8000 (one of the largest in many years), saw the Espy Rockdogs defeat The Megahertz by 1 point. the days new charity partner is Reclink Australia. In June 2010 over 10 000 punters came along to see the Clash Community Cup.
